Sunday Update!

I just want everyone to know my eBay store and Darlene's eBay store will be closed down from today until after my surgery and I get back home on September 6th.. I will be leaving my TraderKat and Listia ads up as I made the closing dates after I get home.. I will let everyone know when everything is put back up!

Have been so busy..

 

This summer seems to have passed so fast.. in between my garden, Dr. appts, working on stuff in eBay and reorganizing my apartment I cant believe it has been a month already since I last added anything.. Things will be slowing down for me as I am going for surgery for a cochlear implant in early Sept.  I finally decided to stop putting stuff off and getting that done.. 

My garden has been producing some.. this rather hot summer has helped some veggies.. but others havent done quite as well. I managed to get tons of cucumbers so made some refrigerator pickles.. 

Cooked up some slices of eggplant to freeze.. I still have two more do do.. and then got to do the same for my summer squashes.. my peppers I have been freezing whole for stuffed peppers..  it doesnt look like I am going to get many tomatoes.. the darn deer like them too.. next year I will be getting a fence..  

Thats my latest thing.. will try to not let it go so long.. 

Sunday Garden Update.. 4 and 5

I have been so busy that the photos I took last Sunday never got up.. or I think.. lol. Anyways.. I got my first zucchini picked.. am excited about that.. My garden is growing strong.. I have tons of lettuce.. peas pods (some are now peas.. lol).. some yellow squash, peppers, tomatoes, cucumber.. and my first flower on my eggplant.. it wont be long that I can start getting my own veggies!!

the flowers are Marigolds.. they are suppose to repeal wildlife.. 

I am waiting for it to turn color.. lol.. no idea what color I am growing.. they were mixed seeds..

I have some Italian Sweet Peppers too.. two indoors which grew from seeds late.. I got them in pots.. along with the mystery squash you can see in the bottom of the photo.. it was growing in the same pot as my lettuce??!! 

Sunday Garden Update 3 - Cucumbers and Tomatoes

 Now that my garden is growing like crazy I will just focus on a couple of things per day.. maybe every other day.. today it is my cucumbers and my tomatoes that I originally planted that got frosted. I am happy cos I have my first tomato growing.. and tons of flowers on them. 

First my cucumbers.. I have 3 in one large pot and one by itself.. They are flowering.. so I expect I will have cucumbers by next week.. well.. baby ones.. lol.. 

These guys I really didnt think would survive.. they surprised me and are already producing my first tomato.. 

more in a day or so.. 

Sunday Garden Update 2

 Today is a horribly hot an humid day.. I went out to water my plants and fertilize (do that monthly).. I really thought I would die!! lol.. anyways.. they seem to be doing well.. Pictures below.. 

I got a few eggplants.. one is doing well.. not sure about the other one.. I honestly only need one for me.. lol.. 

My lettuce is growing like crazy.. I cut some last night to eat on Sunday.. I guess I will be eating salad alot!

my peppers are loving this.. I already got flowers and a tiny pepper!

I need to get this built up.. my cucumbers are already looking to grab stuff! If it isnt too hot tonight.. I will do a little.. 

These are the three tomatoes that I thought would die after we got that frost.. well.. as you can see they are growing like crazy and have tons of flowers.. I will have tons of tomatoes this year.. I am actually gonna can some of them maybe one jar at a time (I wont get that many!).. I see homemade sauce in my future!

my zucchini is doing great.. already got flower buds.. my yellow squash.. well.. I started that from seed and it isnt doing as well.. we will see.. 

Garden Update!

Finally the weather has been cooperating with me.. I got some of my pictures so you can see how things are.. I already have flowers on both tomatoes and peppers.. 

my newest garden pot! These are both tomatoes and cucumbers.. I got to go out and start building up so the cucumbers can climb!

More tomatoes.. these were out first.. got damaged by the cold temps we had.. and now are growing strong.. I already have some flowers on the back row ones.. I also have planted peas as I love pea pods in my salad.. cant wait for them!

Speaking of salad.. I have many different lettuces growing.. and pots of marigolds in the front.

These are my green peppers.. some already have flowers.. cant wait!

Last but least I have zucchini and yellow squash.. the zucchini is growing like crazy!

I have eggplant plants to go out next.. hopefully tomorrow.. 

So long since I have been here

I have been so busy running to Doctor appointments both for me and my cats.. I had my eye surgery scheduled for my second cataract surgery, but cancelled it when I found out my cat had cancer from his rabies vaccination.  That rather threw me for a loop.. after investigating on how to treat it, my vet and I came to the conclusion that it would be best treated at Cornell.. not an easy thing to do.  

Then my gallbladder acted up.. bad enough that they said surgery had to be done.. Again not an easy thing to plan in between the eye surgery that was rescheduled, labwork and tests for me, and Link needed more tests for Cornell.

I finally had my surgery and am recovering, and Link's paperwork is in at Cornell, so now maybe I can focus on my sales and crocheting.. at least a little.. Again sorry so long.. 

Just an update..

January was hard for me.. mentally and physically.. I just had too much happen too fast and ended up literally just shutting down.. playing games online mostly.. which did wonders for my gift cards. lol.. but nothing else.. maybe some reading.. My January reading list will be coming tomorrow.. 

Then on January 31, I had surgery for cataracts and glaucoma.. getting the glaucoma surgery always gives me a headache.. not sure why.. but it does.. I finally started feeling like me again.. and actually started crocheting this weekend.. made some hotpads for my daughter.. Just a couple of quicky ones.. solid on the back.. granny square on the front.. 

I will be back crocheting new items for sale probably this month.. I still have an order to finish.. Luckily, she isnt in a rush for it.. 

Sunday Update!

Been a while since I did this.. decided it was time to take a break and just say hi to everyone and thank them for reading my blog entries.. 

I have been working on Easter towels and dishclothes.. and also will be starting an order for dog/cat butt coasters and a scrunchie someone bidded on Listia.

I also have been cleaning thru my books and patterns.. putting them up on either Facebook, Listia or Ebay.. trying to clear out the tons and tons of items I have in my craft room.. I have so much I dont even know what I have anymore.. smile... everytime I clean thru things I am astonished at what I find.. grin.. 

I am also getting into the spring mode.. looking for ideas to make for items.. probably some baby items, coasters, cup cozies, and of course more towels.. smile.. if you have any ideas for me.. dont hesitate to let me know.. Well.. off to sales stuff for the day.. hope you have a nice day!!

Sunday Update

Well.. this was a busy and stressful week for me.. alot of Dr appts.. and sick family members (including one of my favorite cats!)..still struggling to get things done.. it is hard when you just cant think..

I got a better picture of the Plastic Bag Holder that I made.. nice picture too. you can see how big it is.. it went over so well. that I will be making these for sale.. still deciding on a price.. this is made with a cotton dishtowel (though I also might use other kinds).. and edged in crochet for a hanger and a stretchy bottom to hold the bags in..

I currently am working on Potholders for an order.. this is using the pattern for the basketweave dishclothes. I will have pictures soon.. hopefully even as soon as Tuesday..

Sunday Update..

Well.. havent done these for awhile.. smile.. Just thought I would stop in and let you know what is up in my world.. On the kitties front.. Sapphire is healed again.. back eating and moving around.. That makes me happy.. Gabby, on the other hand, is not healed up yet.. her one gland in her neck is still swollen.. if she isnt better by Tuesday I guess it will be time to visit the vet AGAIN..

On my stores.. been working hard to get some new items up for sale at Old & New Shoppe and Listia. I will be putting up alot of new patterns in both, and new books in Old & New Shoppe.. been doing alot of reading, so have alot to put up..

In crocheting.. I finished off the pair of slippers I have been working on.. just need to attach them to the bottoms.. this is one pattern I will never use again.. I didnt like it.. to be honest.. If someone wants them.. I am definitely gonna charge double what I did agree on. I am now starting a pair of sneaker slippers.. like these.. except in gray and peach.. already started the bottoms..

I still need to finish a baby gift I started for someone.. as well as an order for a Camisole I got.. smile.. will update you with pictures during the week..

Sunday Update.. Football Slippers

I had time so decided to do a Sunday Update.. smile.. thought you would like to see my progress on my newest slippers.. I am using Vanna Yarn.. which is softer than the Red Heart I used on the other football booties. Sure makes a difference..

This is where I ended on Thursday night.. I had only the first couple of rows of the toe..

Last night.. I worked more on the slipper while watching a really scary movie.. so alot of times I just sat with the yarn in my lap.. lol..

Since it is a larger size.. it is taking me a bit longer.. this picture is ithe slipper inside out.. the back part is easier to do, inside out for me.. Will have more pictures on Tues.. Monday of course will be my Shout Out.. so check for it.

Sunday Update!!

How is your Sunday going?? Am busy with clearing out stuff for this week.. you know how it is.. smile.

I got several orders packed and weighed.. and ready to print out postage.. plan on doing that tonight. and got my home office much more organized.. soon.. hopefully I will be able to get more stuff scanned and put up for sale in my Old & New Shoppe.. (really need to clear out more stuff.. smile).. and now that I got my picture taking area almost done.. that also should save me time.. smile..

I almost got done with the Froggie slippers.. just need to embroider the eyes.. hope to get some pictures done tomorrow night.. am busy all day tomorrow.. also got my football slippers pattern printed out.. that is next.. I definitely want to get done with two different styles on those next.

Due to the BNS I was on..  I got two towels sold.. smile.. I still have a bunch to put up.. will get done with those today (I sent the pictures here already)..

Am glad a new week is starting.. lol.. cos this is my day for relaxing.. I dont do sales on Sunday.. just catch up with emails.. and may invoices if necessary.. smile.. need the time off.. too.. in the next few days.. My boyfriend and I will be going to look for at the freezer, go to The Christmas Tree store for drapes, and AC Moore for yarn.. lol.. thankfully all in the same plaza..

Hot Humid Sunday!!

It finally rained here.. not enough to do anything.. just make it more humid.. humidity is starting to go down.. down to 62% now.. temp of 80.. not alot to alot of people. but we in Buffalo are just not used to this kind of weather.. they officially said we are in a drought.. and yah. sure looks like it.. all the lawns are brown and dried out.. only good part is we dont need to cut the grass.. grin..

Been picking alot of summer squash.. so some of my friends have gotten some.. stopped over a friend's house last night.. and visited and got a bunch of stuff  back from her.. lol.. guess it was a fair exchange.. smile.

I think Sundays will be my day for just catching up with stuff.. no sales going out.. no new items going up.. Just a nice long note on my blog.. just need a break once in a while.. smile.. I do have orders to pack and mail.. and an order to start.. just been focusing on making and using up crochet cotton in dishclothes.. I do have a few more to add tomorrow.. New sales going out too..

Tomorrow will be a busy day for me.. have to hit the post office and mail orders, visit my cat in the animal hospital and find out if they are going to do surgery on him.. he keeps blocking.. poor cat.. and then I have an appt for the afternoon.
