Just finished these potholders for an order.. these were made with Simply Soft yarn.. I really like this yarn for kitchenware.. softer than cotton, less expensive than cotton, dries alot faster than cotton.. I started making alot of my items with this instead of cotton..

These potholders were taken from this design... for a dishcloth.. smile.. alot of my items can be made for sets.. I just took this pattern and made a solid back.. edged it.. and there was a potholder.. smile..

Here is a link to the pattern.. it is called Bands of Lace Dishcloth.

Bands of Lace Potholder
Yesterday was an exciting day.. got my first order on Etsy.. and got my critique I asked for.. they found 3 problems with my site.. prices on postage too high.. working on lowering that.. so buying from my Etsy store will save you money in postage, cos I get a really nice price for delivery confirmation there.

Also... I had a raffle on my Facebook page.. and the winner is.........

Tammy Egan!!!/neganfamily

Please look at the list and let me know which item you want for your prize..

More games coming soon.. smile..

It was a busy day for me today.. packed orders, took pictures of my completed items, sent invoices.. hard when today I just felt down and out..

Just finished these towels.. and will be putting them up for sale on Etsy.. smile.. I only have one of each.. but you can get this as a set for $5.. and add some matching dishclothes for $1 each.. nice housewarming gift for someone for less than $10 + postage.. of course I also can take special orders.. adding and subtracting items to make a nice gift.. you can have the same design as the wash clothes as potholders, or I can make teapot potholders/dishclothes to match this set.

I was thinking about how I started crocheting.. like most Italian girls, I grew up watching my grandmother crocheting with thread, making doilies and lace items.  I asked her to show me how to do that, never thinking it would be so hard.. but I did manage to get the idea of chain stitches and single crochet stitches.  The thread was just too hard to handle.

Growing up in the 1960's and 1970's, I saw all these cool fashions using the granny stitch, so I got myself a book, a needle and a skein of yarn, and taught myself to do all the stitches in yarn.  I decided to make myself a skirt (no pattern, didnt know how to do that yet), and it didnt work out.. ended up making it a bag to hold my yarn and stuff and I still have it to this day.  Will have to take a picture and show you.

Then, while attending Annunciation High in Buffalo, NY, a nun taught me to read patterns and how to combine stitches for making patterns, and that is all I needed..

Tomorrow.. I will continue.. and hopefully have some pictures..
I am a bit new at this.. but I figure it was time to start this.. smile.. and discuss my stores, my projects, and many other things here.. I hope you like this..

My first one should be about me.. I just retired a couple of years ago from working as a Vet Tech and Petsitter, as I just couldnt do the work anymore.. Then I had to decide what to do with myself.. cos I am not very senior.. smile.. Since I have been crocheting for years and often sold my items via craft shows, I decided to open my own store and website online.. to sell the items I am making. my first attempt was thru Buy Sell Community Here I listed the items I made that were available for sale.. smile.. guess you can check that out first.. will be back later with more info..
