My New Years Resolution..

 I am going to try very hard to monthly check in with my reading challenge.. last year I read 84 out of the 55 I signed up to read.. Yep.. I definitely surpassed what I expected to read.. you can see my challenge here.. plus the books I read.. Most the books I read go directly to TraderKat.. as it isnt worth putting them up on eBay anymore.. at least I can get points to use for other items..

A Whole Month Has Past!!

I have been busy.. just enjoying life.. got to get back to my sales starting this week.. So be prepared for quite a few clearance sales coming thru.. you can see my items for sale almost daily on my Facebook sale page..  I generally send 2 or 3 ads per day.. 

I havent been working on too much crocheting.. or typing for that matter.. seems I have developed a lump from using it too much on my right trigger finger.. Finally down so I can get back to it.. I have so many things I want to make!!

I am finally going to put my books back up.. did my 2023 Challenge on Goodreads.. I ended up reading 51 out of 50.. Will update January's books by Wednesday..

For December I read and finished:

Wolfskin (Saga of the Light Isles #1) by Juliet Marillier Of all the books I read this month.. this was the one I liked the best.. I plan on getting book 2.. 

Ancients by R. Karl Largent This book was quite good, but I wasnt fond of the ending.. it would have been fine if it was part of a series.. but it doesnt look like it was.. 

In a Killer's Sights (Smoky Mountain Secrets #1) by Sandra Robbins This was a suspense romance.. and it was actually quite good.. 

An Accidental Family by Darlene Graham This was a romance.. I had a few of them to read, since most of them are short and sweet.. I finished that one..

Books I read in May

I haven't been doing alot of reading.. more like going thru my books and putting alot up for sale.. Doing a full cleanout of my craft and book room in the next month.. so watch for alot of bargains.

I finished the Dakota Series last month.. with Always Dakota (Dakota, #3).  I now have the whole series up for sale in one sitting..  you can get them on eBay.. click here for the link

I also finished Leave the World Behind by Rumaan Alam.. this book I havent taken pictures of yet.  I will get to it soon.. 

Well.. back to cleaning thru books.. I cant believe how many I have.. LOL.. 

Books I read in April

 I read alot this month.. my goal is to read at least a book a week.. give or take.. after I read them.. then I will put them up on eBay for sale.. less to move.. 

First book I read was one that caught my eye since the main character was deaf.. something I can relate to.  Not a Sound by Heather Gudenkauf.  I enjoy this mystery.. it is already up for sale..

The next book I finished is Connections in Death by J.D. Robb.. I love detective series.. especially ones that a woman is the main character.. This is a whole series.. I dont have all of them.. plan on getting some at the library.. I really dont need to buy any more book.. this book also is up for sale on eBay.

I also finished the whole Dakota Trilogy by Debbie Macomber.. Dakota Born, Dakota Home, and Always Dakota.. I put all three books up as one group.. listed on eBay Here.. 

Not sure what I will start next.. I havent done any reading since April 30th.. better pull one tonight.. lol..

I definitely didnt read as much as I usually do.. with going to PT and simply cos I was tired all the time.. I just didnt get many books read.. 

A Cat's Tale: A Journey Through Feline History by Koudounaris, Paul

This book I really have to say I enjoyed.. written from the cat's point of view.. it gave the history of the domestication of cats.

The Scions of Shannara (Heritage of Shannara, #1) by Terry Brooks

I am slowly but surely getting thru the Shannara Series.. this book is my own personal copy.. it also contains the next book of the series.. but I currently put it aside for a change of pace.. Hopefully I will have more books listed next month.

Books I read in February 2022

I didnt get as much reading done this month.. only two books.  Life got in the way, as well as a short month. I hope to do more reading this month.

The Sword of Shannara Trilogy (The Original Shannara Trilogy #1-3 ) by Terry Brooks, which I downloaded to my Kindle app to read the last two books.

The Horsewoman by James Patterson and Mike Lupica, which I also got out of the library.

I started another book on my Kindle app.. which I just finished reading.. A Cat's Tale: A Journey Through Feline History by Paul Koudounaris and Baba the Cat. More about that next month..

I was reading thru other blogs and I saw this on The Stripe.. and I thought it was a great idea.. so I am going to try this every month.. I have so many books to read and clear out that this will challenge me to read more.. I hope.. lol..

Previously I started reading the prequels to the Shannara series, so decided to reread the whole series, and started The Sword of Shannara by Terry Brooks.. you can click on the link for a rundown of the book. I got it thru the library as a kindle download, so nice not to go out and get the book in the snow.. lol.. 

Then I finally got called to pick up a book that I have been waiting for at the library.. Diana Gabaldon's Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone.. part of the Outlander series.. That was a really long book.. but I spent many a night staying up to dawn to read it.. as I am really a fan of the series.. 

Then after that.. while I was waiting for my download on Kindle of the next Shannara book, I read Between Two Thorns (The Split Worlds #1) by Emma Newman.. This is my book, and it is up for sale on Ebay, for $4.79 free shipping. I finished that on Jan. 29th and started The Elfstones of Shannara, which I finished last night..

Well. I started reading Christmas Letters.. and have discovered that I previously read this.. sigh.. this is why I love to keep track of what I read on Goodreads.. so I dont end up getting a book I already read.. now to decide if I want to read it after all..

Happy to say I am almost finished this year.. last year I didnt make it.. this year looks like I will surpass my challenge.. I think the difference is that last year I was reading the Outlander series.. which are thick and long.. thinner books being read this year..

When I went to add this book I discovered that Michael Crichton died back in 2008 from Lymphoma.. dont know how I missed that.. really sad as he is one of my favorite authors..

These are a few of my favorite things.. part one

All my friends will tell you that I have been an avid reader since early childhood.. I have books all over my house.. I think I like reading even more than crocheting.. smile.. 

One of my online things I do is keep track of the books that I read.. I use Goodreads to do this.. not only does it help me keep track of what I read and how many books in a year I have read, but also since I often get books from friends, used book stores, and places like yard sales, Goodwill, Amvets and The Salvation Army, I never know if a book I read is part of a series.. sure helps me find books to read.. 

Lately I have been adding alot of nonfiction books to my reading list.. such as Crochet with Style, 

Ten Hills Farm: The Forgotten History of Slavery in the North,   How To Show & Sell Your Crafts, and am currently reading The Fatigue and Fibromyalgia Solution.  So what do these 4 books have in common.. well.. they all caught my eye while at our local libraries.. I remember too well how nice it was just to hang out at the library and just look at books on the shelves for reading material.. sometimes I just love to do that.. 

Newest Books.. The Lake House

I just finished James Patterson's The Lake House.. really good book.. I found this book comparable to Robin Cook's writings.. I love action/adventure esp in medical disasters.. it was with a twist.. just added that to my Good Reads list.. finished it in two days.. smile..

Discovered that it is the second book to a series.. lol.. two book series.. so will find the first one and add that one.. Want more info.. click on the link to it in Good Reads.

I am now reading one of the first books that was on my my list on Good Reads.. I got several of the books in this series already.. am reading the second one now.. This is the Masters of Time series.. called Dark Rival.. will talk about that one in my next update..

Sunday Update.

Oh.. of course I am busy.. grin.. I keep myself that way.. anyways.. worked on hanging towels while at the Dr. Office with my next door neighbor (got one one and one almost done.. no pics yet).. and last night worked on the camisole.. got alittle done. as I had to keep pulling it out until I got the right chest size.. hopefully it works.. plan on doing more of this tonight..

Last night I read alittle. I am now on Dark Embrace by Brenda Joyce.  I have boxes and boxes of books to read.. people are alway giving me books so I got a ton of them... plus whatever I pick up other places too.. grin.. I dont think I need to use the library for years.. of course I often go and get books that are in a series if I like the series.. I am debating on this one.. esp since it is book three of one series and book one of the other.. I have time.. I already got my next book out to read.. as I should finish this one this weekend.

Today, my plan is to put still yet more on Ebay as I have a bunch of freebies to still fill.. sold a bunch of patterns, some books, and a couple of VHS this month.. so those are gone.. grin.. Well.  better get my butt into gear.. see you maybe tomorrow.
